Installation Guide & Maintenance
For Installation:
- Grab a screwdriver or drill, tape measure, stud finder, and the drywall anchors included in the box.
- First, use your stud finder to identify all the studs behind your oven. Mark each one with painters tape or pencil.
- Next, place the cleat on the wall and align it based on your studs. We highly recommend hanging the backsplash in at least 1 stud. The backsplash itself can be shifted to the left or right, so the cleat doesn't have to be perfectly centered.
- Once you've made your marks, screw or drill the cleat to the wall and ensure it's sturdy.
- Next, place the backsplash on the cleat and adjust it to the left or right to ensure it's centered behind your oven.
Maintenance and Aging Your Brass:
- If you need to clean your backsplash, remove it from the cleat and wash with warm soap and water. Follow this by cleaning it with Bar Keepers Friend. Once cleaned, thoroughly dry the backsplash and rehang it.
- If you like an aged look, you can try aging your backsplash using vinegar or an aging solution. Please note, if you decide to age your backsplash that will void your return. We always recommend testing this on a sample to ensure you like the look.
